Metal Coating Mirrors

Metal-coated mirrors are ideally suited for the deflection of broadband optical paths, offering high reflectivity across an extensive spectral range.Given that metallic coatings are prone to oxidation, discoloration, or delamination in high-humidity environments, such mirrors are typically overlaid with a protective silicon dioxide (SiO₂) film. This layer physically isolates the metallic coating from direct contact with air, effectively preventing oxidation and ensuring long-term stability of optical performance.
