Infrared Dome

An optical dome is a uniform-thickness spherical component with coinciding centers of its inner and outer spherical surfaces. Mounted at the front end of high-speed projectiles, it features an aerodynamic profile that meets strict fluid mechanics requirements. With two concentric spherical surfaces, this component can be visualized as a crescent-shaped optical window.
