AOS Optics’ Cylindrical Lenses are high-precision optical components with cylindrical surfaces, differing from spherical lenses by acting on incident light in a single direction only—engineered exclusively for one-dimensional light source shaping applications. Available in two core structures, plano-convex cylindrical lenses feature a positive focal length to converge incident light into a line, while plano-concave cylindrical lenses have a negative focal length for beam divergence; they are widely used to focus parallel/divergent beams into a line or adjust an image’s aspect ratio.

All our cylindrical lens products can be customized with double-sided anti-reflection coatings (UV, VIS, NIR, SWIR, IR1, IR2), which drastically reduce surface reflection and boost transmittance.
