Shortpass Filters are also called infrared cut-off filters. Generally, a light beam in a certain wavelength range is required to be transmitted, and the light beam deviating from this wavelength is changed to reflection (or cut-off). Usually, we call filters that reflect (cut-off) the short-wave region and transmit the long-wave region long-wave pass filters. On the contrary, filters that reflect (cut-off) the long-wave region and transmit the short-wave region are called short-wave pass filters.

Shortpass filters are important optical components. They are designed to transmit short-wave light while blocking long-wave light. The shortpass filters we produce feature high transmittance, high cut-off depth, and a steep transition band. Conventional shortpass filters can provide cut-off up to 1200nm. AOS Optics can customize ultra-long cut-off ranges, such as extending the cut-off wavelength to 2000nm. In addition, the short-wave transmission range can be as low as 200nm. The standard cut-off depth is OD4, and AOS Optics also supports customization for filters with higher cut-off depths.
Shortpass filters are mainly used in laser protection, ultraviolet light sources, heat-reflective lighting systems, digital imaging, stage lighting, fingerprint recognition, ink recognition systems, etc. They are also widely applied in optical experiments, spectral measurement, industrial measurement, medical analysis, biochemical testing, scientific instruments and other fields.
